Dress made of cream color satin - according to the portrait by Tadeusz Ajdukiewicz from 1880.

Long bodice fitted with tucks and stiffened with whalebone. Dress buttoned up or laced up from the back. Neck of the bodice and puffy sleeves creased. Haberdashery sewn into lines of ruffling. On the neck small ruff of fabric and lace and stand-up collar. Fairly tight sleeve sewn into slightly lowered shoulder and front of the bodice are decorated with raised embroidery or lace. Bottom of the sleeve finished with creased lace. Lower edge of the bodice is decorated with haberdashery imitating belt.

Skirt rather tight in the hips, smoothly sewn in from sides and in front. From the back decorated by folds and extended into train. Lower edge finished with piping. Front and side gores have at the bottom added tassels, on the top formed into five petal flower. Those elements gather the fabric in several fine folds so that lower edge is arranged in light arches.

From under the skirt densely ruffled laces are visible.

On the last photo we present a trimming on another of Helena Modjeska costumes, made by the same technique as trimming on costume of Juliet. Color of the trimming suggests that dress was of cream color. Perhaps it was uniform in color unlike on the picture painted by Ajdukiewicz which could have been painted form photograph.
